100 Sales--Woot, Woot!

I reached 100 sales on Etsy the other day! Thank-you to all who've helped me destash my beads &/or bought my jewelry! Couldn't have done it without you! :)

Not a Dud!

Metalwork has its frustrations. For every 2 or 3 duds I make, there will be 1 piece that turns out well. Out of every 5 or so non-duds, there will be a piece that makes me question whether or not I really want to part with it. And here is one, "Chance of Rain":
{labradorite & opal}
I did not have this design conceptualized before I began working. There was no sketch, no hint of what this FLASHY labradorite would become. I love pleasant surprises.

A Little Luxury

I finally set a couple more of the amazing labradorite cabs I was hoarding! They are a bit more blue/green than my teardrop ring, but I think I can wear them together anyway.

I still have a little finishing to do. I'm not happy with that excess solder on the right one. I meant to hide it under the stone, but I must've turned the frame without noticing the join. Argh. It's going to take a lot of filing.
Here are some sterling circle studs. They are all over Etsy, but mine are larger & forged until they're like wafers. You don't even feel them on. Plus, I like how they're slightly irregular so they don't look manufactured. "Roundabout Studs" are in my shop.
More new pieces coming as I get ready for the Central West End show (June 12-14)!

Art Show THis Weekend!

I meant to send out postcards to all my lovely customers, but it doesn't look like I'll be getting my act together in time. So here's a jiffy post about the downtown Washington Art & Winefest!
Last year, the weather was perfect, if a little windy. I spent several hours literally holding a tent leg to avoid a Wizard of Oz re-enactment.

I've got much heavier tent weights this year, so please come out for a visit. I'd love to see you!

New Work

I love the irregularity of this pendant: ("First Light": labradorite)

("Lunar" recycled sterling silver studs)

I wish my photography skills were better. I just couldn't catch the shimmer in this grey moonstone. At least I got the blue flash in the tiny labradorite on the chain:
("Double Dot" recycled sterling, grey moonstone & labradorite)
The last necklace is in my Etsy shop & the other 2 pieces should land there in the next day or two.
